SCAD to host NAIA Softball Tournament
SCAD will host the 2008 NAIA Region XIV Softball Tournament at the Paulson Softball Complex on Skidaway Road, May 8-9. Whichever team wins the four-team, double-elimination tournament will go on to the NAIA National Championship held May 16-21 in Decatur, Ala. The games are free for those with a SCAD ID or $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.
John Galliano exhibition
The 2008 SCAD fashion show will host John Galliano as its special guest. A photographic exhibition of his work will be on display from May 2 to June 8 at the Red Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St. A reception will be held May 2 at 5 p.m. for the exhibition. The fashion shows will be held May 17 at 4 and 8 p.m. Galliano will appear at the 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $20 for the 4 p.m. show and $50 for the 8 p.m. show, or $10 and $25 respectively with a SCAD ID.
Sidewalk Arts Festival
Melody Waller, an animation graduate student from Fountain Inn, S.C., was awarded Best in Show at this year’s Sidewalk Arts Festival.
