College Security Report: July 7-13, 2008

July 9

7:55 a.m.—SCAD faculty members reported to security that two projectors and one DVD player were missing from Anderson Hall. Police responded to the scene and generated a report.

11 p.m.—An American Coach driver reported to security that a black male in a black t-shirt fired a BB gun at the SCAD bus causing the passenger entrance door window to shatter.  There were no injuries reported. Police responded to the scene and generated a report.

July 10

1:09 a.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Arnold Hall.  Upon investigation it was determined that the alarm was activated by two contractors from a glass tinting company.  The alarm was silenced and reset.

9:12 a.m.—A staff member reported to security that she believes her vehicle may have been damaged while parked at Gulfstream Center on July 9.  The staff member stated that she did not notice the damage until she reached home.  Police were notified of the incident, but did not respond to scene since the incident happened the day before.

3:16 p.m. — Security responded to a panic alarm activation at York Hall.  Upon investigation it was determined that the panic alarm was hit by accident.  A tour of the building was conducted and all appeared normal.

4:41 p.m.—Security responded to a smoke alarm activation at Alexander Hall.  Upon investigation it was determined that the alarm was a false alarm.  The alarm company was called and asked to reset the alarm.

7:49 p.m.—An American Coach driver reported to security that, while she was driving at Price and Anderson streets, she heard a loud noise at the rear of the bus.  When she arrived at Turner House she noticed that one of the windows on the left side of the bus had shattered.  There were no students on the bus at the time of the incident.

July 11

9:20 a.m.— The Café SCAD sign was damaged during a passing storm.  The sign fell and shattered.  Maintenance was notified.
