College Security Report May 2-8, 2011

May 2

12:40 a.m. — Security responded to Dyson House. The resident director requested that security take custody of a stun gun confiscated from a student.

3:35 p.m. — Security observed Sodexho employees transferring a case of Power Ade from the trunk of one vehicle to the trunk of another vehicle. Security informed the Sodexho Manager.

2:15 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Montgomery Hall. A student experiencing jaw pain was transported by EMS from the scene to Memorial University Medical Center.

May 3

9:20a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Bergen Hall involving a student who passed out. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

11 a.m. — A student reported to security that her bike had been stolen from the Dyson House bike rack. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

11 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Arnold Hall in reference to a student having had a seizure. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

May 4

5:15 a.m. — Security discovered graffiti damage on the side door of Dyson Lab. Maintenance was notified of the damage.

5:32 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Arnold Hall involving a student having a seizure. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

8:41 p.m. — Security responded to a call regarding a black man loitering at Lai Wa and refusing to leave the area. Security met Savannah-Chatham Metro Police at the scene, but the male had departed the scene prior to security and police arriving.

9:19 p.m. — A student reported to security that her car had been broken into and her laptop stolen between 9 p.m. on May 2 and 12:35 a.m. on May 3. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

May 5

5:17 a.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at the River Club. It was determined that the alarm was a false alarm and the system was reset.

9:36 p.m. — The security officer at Oglethorpe House observed a man stealing a bike from the back rack at Oglethorpe House. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and took down the man’s description. The police stated that they would increase patrols of the area. No crime report was issued.

May 6

12:30 p.m. — Security discovered a fire door at Adler Hall unsecured. It was determined that maintenance was on site and had opened the door.

4:27 p.m. — Security responded to a minor vehicle accident at Barnard Village. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

May 7

No activity reported.

May 8

2:50 p.m. — A student brought a cat into Alexander Hall and refused to remove the animal when asked to do so. The student was informed that the college had a no pet policy, but she stated that she would not remove the cat.

8:54 p.m. — A student reported to security that his camera had been misplaced or stolen. The student could not recall where he might have placed the camera. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

11:26 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at Poetter Hall. The alarm silenced and restored itself prior to security’s arrival.
