College Security Report: Nov. 21-Dec. 2, 2008

Nov. 21

12:01 a.m.—A security officer asked student to leave Wallin Hall once it was closed. The student refused to leave. The officer notified dispatch and the security operations manager and supervisor, who arrived at the scene. The student was asked to leave the building by the operations manager and left the building without further incident.

1:21 a.m.—Security responded to Turner House in reference to an alarm malfunction. A walk-through was conducted and the alarm was reset.

1:37 a.m.—Security responded to a call box alarm at Boundary Village. Security checked the area.

2:37 a.m.—While on patrol at Boundary Hall, security found an unsecured door. The building was checked and secured.

4:01 a.m.—A SCAD student left travel documents in a staff member’s office at Habersham Hall. Security entered Habersham Hall, but the office was locked.

11:16 p.m.—The alarm company contacted security to an advise of alarm malfunction at Boundary Village. Security arrived, but could not gain access to the room in question. Security was unable to contact the resident assistant.

Nov. 22

1:40 a.m.—While on patrol at Boundary Hall, security found an unsecured door. The building was checked and all was secured. A grey Toyota Corolla was observed in the parking lot

3:52 a.m.—Security discovered an unsecured gate at Red Gallery. Security attempted to secure to gate but could not. A work order was placed.

5:09 p.m.—Security found the alarm panel in River Club was activated. The panel was reset.

5:09 p.m.—Security found the alarm panel in Barnard Village was activated. The panel was reset.

6:04 p.m.—Security discovered an unsecured door at Keys Hall. The building was checked and all doors were secured.

11:30 p.m.—Security found the alarm panel in Barnard Village was activated. The panel was reset.

Nov. 23

11:43 p.m.—Security found the alarm panel in Boundary Village was activated. The panel was reset.

Nov. 24

Noon—Two SCAD students stated that they left their supplies at their workstation at Gulfstream Center on Nov. 21. When he returned on Nov. 24, the items were gone.

8:08 p.m.—A student stated that her key was broken in the lock to the door to her Dyson House room. A locksmith was called.

Nov. 25

10:30 a.m.—A SCAD staff member stated that on Nov. 24 she locked all doors and turned all lights off in the Student Center. However, a janitorial service employee stated that the lights in the snack bar and the staff member’s desk were on when she arrived. The staff member also found a file cabinet that appeared to have been pried open, but she stated nothing appeared to missing and declined notifying police.

12:30 p.m.—A SCAD staff member notified security to report that a laptop computer valued at $1899 was stolen from room Propes Hall. Police filed a report.

Nov. 26

8:13 p.m.—Security responded to a call box activation at Eckburg hall. A patrol of the area was conducted and no problems were found.

9:20 p.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Barnard Village. Security determined it was a false alarm and the system was reset.

11:56 p.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Boundary Village. Security determined it was a false alarm and reset the system.

Nov. 27

8:05 p.m.— Security responded to an alarm activation at Poetter Hall. Security determined it was a false alarm and reset the system.

Nov. 28

9:46 p.m.—Security responded to a call box activation at Arnold Hall. A patrol of the area was conducted and no problems were found.

11:15 p.m.—Security responded to a call box activation at Eckburg Hall. A patrol of the area was conducted and no problems were found.

11:52 p.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at room 4203 of Boundary Village. Security determined it was a false alarm and reset the system.

Nov. 29

11:59 p.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Boundary Village. Security determined it was a false alarm and reset the system.

Nov. 30

11:30 a.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Barnard Village. Security determined it was a false alarm and reset the system.

11:45 a.m.—Security discovered the gate entrance on the Habersham street side of Anderson Hall was unsecured. The gate had been knocked of track and could not be secured.

4:50 p.m.—Security responded to an intrusion alarm activation at Kiah Hall. Security responded to the scene and determined it was a false alarm. The alarm company was notified and the system was reset.
