College Security Report: Nov. 7-9, 2008

Nov. 7

7:18 a.m.— Security responded to Barnard Village for a medical call. A student stated that her roommate was discovered facedown on the dorm floor vomiting.  EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

9:30 a.m.—A SCAD student notified security that his car had been damaged while it was parked at Boundary Village. He did not wish to have a police report filed.

10:30 a.m.—Security discovered an unknown male using profanity in Montgomery Hall. Police responded to the scene and issued a report.

12:16 p.m.— Security responded to a medical call at Trustees Theater. A student stated that she had lost her footing and fell, injuring her left cheek. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

10:35 p.m.—Security responded to a vehicle accident at Café SCAD. No injuries were reported. Police responded to the scene and generated a report.

Nov. 8

12:44 a.m.—Security discovered a fire door at Wallin Hall was unsecured. A patrol of the building was conducted and the door was secured.

2:15 a.m.—Security discovered the padlock on the warehouse double doors was unsecured at Montgomery Hall. A patrol of the building was conducted and the door was secured.

1:41 p.m.—A student notified security that her friend, another SCAD student, had not been seen since 1:30 a.m.  The missing student was later found  at Turner House. Police responded to the scene and determined that no report would be issued.

5:18 p.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Boundary Village. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm was caused by a student cooking in the room. Security silenced and reset the alarm.

10:14 p.m.—Two students  informed security that they had been assaulted by two unidentified females while they were standing on Louisville Road between Boundary Village and the Weston/Dyson Complex. Police responded to the scene and generated a report. Both students stated that they did not need medical attention.

10:22 p.m.—A SCAD student called dispatch and asked to speak with an On Call Counselor. Dispatch connected the student with the counselor.

Nov. 9

2:55 a.m.—Security discovered a broken sprinkler head at the Telfair Plantation and that a large amount of water was coming from the damaged sprinkler. Maintenance was notified of the situation.

6:42 p.m.—Security discovered two unknown individuals loitering near the bike rack at Gordon Hall. The individuals fled the property when they noticed the security officer approaching.

6:50 p.m.—Security discovered the left front door to Forsyth Hall was not securing properly. Upon investigation it was determined that the locking mechanism was not functioning properly. A security officer was posted at the door until repairs could be made.

7:05 p.m.—Security was notified that two students were stuck in the elevator at Bergen Hall between the 2nd and 3rd floors. Atlantic Coastal Elevator responded to the scene and released the students from the elevator.
