The thought of Brussels sprouts may bring back memories of parents lecturing the health benefits of these green little orbs. Well, it’s time to ditch those memories; this recipe would make Paula Dean proud. It makes an excellent side dish or a buttery good snack.

Ingredients and Supplies
• Half a stick of butter
• Two microwavable bowls
• A fork
• A cup of Brussels sprouts
• Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
• Cut the butter into chunks and microwave until fully melted.
• While the butter is melting, wash the Brussels sprouts and slice off the bottom of the stem.
• Cut each sprout in half and place them in the melted butter.
• Cover the bowl, but do not seal it. Cook for 2 minutes to steam the sprouts.
• Remove the lid, add the salt and pepper and cook uncovered for another 1-2 minutes. The sprouts should be soft and squishy, but not limp.
• Once fully cooked, remove the sprouts from the leftover butter and put onto a plate. Pour a spoonful of the leftover butter over the sprouts and enjoy!
