SCAD Style

Written by Charlytte Morrone

Spring is here and you know what that means: SCAD style is upon us. Every year after the hustle and bustle of the industry’s most regarded designers’ presentations of their latest collections, it is SCAD’s turn. We present guests from all over the country and get their take on style, how it has changed and how it has impacted their lives, whether it be in fashion or graphic design or architecture during the week of April 14-17.

This year’s guests are the following:

Fashion designer and icon Alexander Wang

Fashion filmmakers Quentin Jones and Arnaud Boutin

Photographer and filmmaker Cass Bird

Fashion editor Sara Moonves

Jewelry designers Danielle Snyder, Jodie Snyder and Eddie Borgo

President of Bergdorf Goodman, Joshua Schulman

Digital creative director of Vogue, Sally Singer

Style editor of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Kate Lanphear

Executive editor of Woman’s Wear Daily, Bridget Foley

Editor-in-chief of Refinery 29, Christene Barberich

Chairman of Tom Ford, Domenico De Sole

Graphic designer and typographer Stefan Sagmeister

Interior designer William Sofield

On Wednesday, April 16, one of the more jammed packed days, the design and digital media panel is taking place with Danielle and Jodie Snyder, moderated by Christene Barberich. SCAD students will present their designs in the Jewelry Trunk Show. The digital content panel will feature the film “Fashion, Film and a New Age of Content Marketing,” moderated by Sally Singer and featuring panelists Quentin Jones, Cass Bird, Sara Moonves and Arnaud Boutin. At night Joshua Schulman will be in conversation with Bridget Foley.

Thursday, April 17 is another Jewelry Trunk Show featuring SCAD student designs. At night a lecture will take place on “Why Rice Cookers Are Exciting,” by Donald Norman.
