Scholarship opportunities

For the 2008-09 academic year, the Charley Wootan Grants will range from $1,000. to $4,245. to qualified undergraduate students. Amounts awarded will be based upon a student’s financial need. To become eligible, student will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet other eligibility requirements. A complete application packet must be postmarked by May 5. An application and more information about the grant program can be found online at www.aie.org/wootan. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

A.T. Cross, the renowned maker of fine writing instruments is sponsoring a pen and ink drawing competition entitled “Fine Lines” Scholarship. The winning drawing will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Additional prizes include three $500 gift certificates to www.cross.com for runners-up, as well as 25 honorable mention awards, each for a $100 gift certificate to www.cross.com.

All currently enrolled SCAD undergraduates and graduate students are welcome to apply by submitting an original pen and ink drawing on any subject matter. Deadline for receipt of your submission is Saturday, May 31. A winner will be selected and notified by Tuesday, July 1.
