Small business workshops

The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and S.C.O.R.E. (Service Corps of Retired Executives) are co-sponsoring two workshops on starting a business.

Each workshop is a three-hour class, and the workshops are scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 14 or Jan. 28 at the Small Business Assistance Center, 111 E. Liberty St. The cost is $69 per person and includes the cost of class materials.

The workshops cover the basics of what to know and do before starting a business, and will cover a variety of topics including how to estimate start-up costs, traits of successful entrepreneurs and business planning.
