The SCAD faculty/staff newspaper, The Chronicle, printed its last issue before spring break. The Chronicle stated their reasoning: “With the recent redesign of The Chronicle Web site — which has been averaging 150,000 hits per month — we realized that The Chronicle content could be used more efficiently within the context of the main SCAD Web site.” As a result, District is now the only print-copy newspaper at SCAD. Despite District now printing ads and classifieds that were previously part of The Chronicle, the content of District will still be entirely student-produced. We may include locally relevant wire stories from reputable newswire services in future issues, but we will still present the SCAD community with a weekly student newspaper.
