Oatland Wildlife Center trying to bring back the bear
First City Club and the Oatland Island Wildlife Center are teaming up to raise funds to renovate their current bear habitat in preparations for new wildlife.
The OIWC made national news after their bear Ursa Minor, then the oldest bear in captivity, passed away. The OIWC is now trying to prepare for a new addition to the center.
The fundraiser will take place Wednesday, October 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First City Club on Congress Street. A cash bar will be open, and the fundraiser will include a silent auction, raffle and donations will be accepted.
