This week in TV all my ships – relationships – took a massive leap forward. Emma and Regina on “Once Upon a Time,” Paige and Walter on “Scorpion,” Clarke and Bellamy on “The 100,” and Skye and Ward on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” – all made some kind of progress, even if not all of it was exactly good.
On Sunday’s “Once Upon a Time,” the Hook and Emma time was actually pretty minimal, limited mostly to the very start and the very end of the episode. Regina and Emma took up most of the episode. I don’t ship them as a couple, but I do believe that in the long run, Regina and Emma will need to be there for each other.
Obviously, Emma feels that way too. Through all the flashbacks, which feature a girl with dark hair who happens to look like Regina, we can tell that Emma feels a connection to Regina. Just like she did with Lilith. Two women with powerful magic and a son to connect them, they must work together to fully understand their relationship with Henry and their own powers.
Monday just keeps getting better for me. “Scorpion” is my favorite show of the season and “True Colors” did not disappoint. While Walter’s character still needs some fine-tuning, the interaction of the team members is spot on. The dynamic between Paige and Walter is my favorite.
In Monday’s episode, the tension between them skyrocketed. It let Walter, who is supposedly too smart to feel anything, experience an emotion – jealousy, with perhaps a hint of lust. All directed at Paige. I love when the people I ship are actually supposed to be together, which is what looks like will be happening on this show. Paige and Walter are probably my second favorite possible couple on TV right now.
My first favorite couple is Bellamy and Clarke on “The 100.” Episode two of this season started out in mediocre way, but had an incredible ending. I was worried at the start of the episode that Clarke may have been brainwashed by the Mount Weather people, but I was glad to find she hadn’t lost her suspicion. That suspicion is what leads her to find the secret that will hopefully lead her out of the mountain and back to Bellamy.
So, while there was no interaction between Bellamy and Clarke, this episode made it more likely that they would see each other again before the season is over. Based on the preview for next week’s episode, Clarke might finally make it out of Mount Weather. I hope so. I’m tired of all these sketchy people.
Tuesday’s episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” was amazing. Brett Dalton’s performance as Grant Ward was nothing short of flawless. Grant has become a very complicated character and his infatuation with Skye has not dimmed. I think Skye will be the reason Ward returns to S.H.I.E.L.D., even if no one wants him there. Whatever feelings he has for Skye will make everyone trust him again, and this week’s episode helped set that scene.
Sure, Ward has escaped custody, but I believe his brother really is crazy. I would trust a man who was loyal to a crazy leader over a politician any day. Ward will return to S.H.I.E.L.D. and it will probably be because of Skye, but also because they will need him in the fight against his psychopathic brother.
