The Rape Crisis Center held its second fundraising event, “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes,” on April 30. The event was held in order to bring attention to the sexual abuse and gender violence occurring in our community. Men of all ages walked one mile around Forsyth Park in high-heeled shoes to show their support and raise money for the victims and survivors of sexual assault. Several members of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department participated in the event, along with members of the Augusta/Savannah Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation and a handful of local celebrities.
