From Marvel voiceovers to “The Walking Dead,” Kerry Condon has done it all, and her role as Siobhan Súilleabháin in her latest film, “The Banshees of Inisherin,” establishes why she was awarded the Distinguished Performance Award at the 25th Annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival.

“The Banshees of Inisherin” is about a friendship that comes to a halt because of one character’s own revelations. This break doesn’t just affect their friendship, it disrupts the whole of the small town that’s located on the coast of Ireland, in which they have known each other for years. Throughout the film, “The Banshees of Inisherin” had the entire theater erupting in laughter, and at times the audience grieved and experienced shock, then had them laugh some more. This film provided an impactful representation of friendships and family, as well as the trials and tribulations that come with it. The beautiful, picturesque landscape of Ireland added a touch of elegance and sereneness to this film – how every scene was shot and composed was wonderfully thought out.

Following the film, Condon participated in a Q&A about the movie. When discussing the locations of the film, she talked about Ireland with love and pride. Growing up, her mom’s appreciation for film was a big influence on Condon’s dream of becoming an actress. Condon said she took inspiration from the female actresses in these films, as well as seeing Liam Neeson, a fellow Ireland native, win an Oscar for “Schindler’s List.”
