College Security Report: April 7-8, 2009
April 7
10:32 a.m.— Security responded to a call box activation at Old Arch. Nobody was found in the vicinity of the call box.
7 p.m.— A non-SCAD individual reported to security that she had lost a ring. She stated that she had left the ring in the first floor women’s restroom and it went missing sometime between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to the scene and issued a report.
April 8
2:49 a.m.— Security discovered the fire extinguisher case glass across from a room in Turner House. ABM janitorial services was called to provide clean up.
10:12 a.m.— Security responded to an off campus vehicle accident at 37th and Habersham streets involving an American Coach bus and a non-SCAD vehicle. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to the scene and issued a report.
1 p.m.— At 7:30 p.m., a SCAD student notified security that she had, earlier in the day, been approached on Turner Street by an unknown male who engaged her in conversation. She stated that the male shook her hand and would not let go. A primer-gray-colored car pulled up with its passenger side door ajar. She further stated that she felt the unknown male was attempting to try and get her in the vehicle. She ran from the scene and went to her dorm room at Turner House. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police were notified of the incident at 7:30 p.m. and responded to dispatch. After speaking with her, the police issued a report.
8:47 p.m.— A woman that refused to identify herself attempted to gain entry to Oglethorpe House to find a SCAD student. The woman stated that she was the student’s sister and was here from out of town. Security offered to contact the residence director and try to reach the student, but the woman declined and departed the site.
