“Art Hound,” a stand-alone exhibition, showcased and auctioned works from SCAD students and alumni at the Kennedy Pharmacy on Broughton Street from March 2-7. 80 percent of the revenue from the artwork was transferred to the Humane Society of Savannah and 20 percent went to the artists.
“Art Hound was a part of my graduate thesis,” said Hank Chandler, curator of the event and an arts and administration graduate student from Athens, Georgia. “One quarter of planning and a quarter of execution brought this event to fruition and I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
It was a successful night for the artists and the Humane Society. More than $2,800 in total was raised thanks to the auction, and two dogs at the gallery — representative of the event — were adopted as well.
