Make JO’s your new weekend destination for food with the addition of a sit-down brunch and the continuation of chophouse this quarter.
You can now start your weekend with brunch, served Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. “The menu will change weekly based on student popularity, seasonality and chef’s creativity,” stated Sam Shepherd, Bon Appetit Director of Operations.
Shepherd explained further, “Brunch will feature your traditional southern favorites: chicken and scratch waffle, customized omelets (egg whites available), scratch biscuits with chorizo gravy, stuffed French toast, eggs benedict and huevos rancheros with crepes. We will also add an element of healthy options like a grilled portabella mushroom with spinach, an avocado with an egg any way and sweet potato and kale egg muffin. Each brunch entrée will include two sides: bacon, sausage, fried red potatoes, eggs any way and fruit salad with crème fraiche.”
Shepherd said, “Brunch includes virgin mimosas, bloody marys and other brunch spritzers.” Maybe you do not have time to sit down and eat, but Bon Appetit still has you covered, Shepherd added. “JO’s will have a full yogurt bar, sliced fruit, pastry and danish selections to choose from. Also, anything on the menu can be ordered to go to fit your quick schedule!”
End your day with JO’s Chophouse, available Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Chophouse’s menu features a steak, fish and a vegetarian special. This menu also will change based on student’s response, seasonality and chef’s creativity. The steak is cooked to order so you’re not stuck with medium-well every time. Side items often include rice medley, scratch mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. A gourmet dessert is also available.
Since most SCAD dining locations are station serving, this brings a new experience to the campus. The system is being improved weekly based on the needs the students have. Upon walking into JO’s, you will be charged the standard meal swipe and asked to seat yourself.
Once you sit down, take a moment to look over the menu because there are weekly changes. A server will come to your table to take your order. While waiting for your food, feel free to grab a drink and something from the dessert table. Bon Appetit would also like students to fill out a survey card on their way out, to help continue to improve the JO’s dining experience.
