‘Bookmarked and Dogeared’ Episode 10: Olivia Mantenieks

Hosted by Elise Mullen, Produced by Perrin Smith and Eve Katz, Edited by Paige Mathieson, Cover designed by Halle Garrett

Olivia Mantenieks, B.F.A. film and television, 2020, sat down with us for our most recent episode of “Bookmarked and Dogeared” to discuss her journey into the world of film. Mantenieks currently works as a freelance video editor, but said she has always had a love for different aspects of the film industry and knew she wanted to work in the industry at 10 years old.

Mantenieks went on to explain how SCAD provided a creative community that helped her grow as an artist. “Starting off so young, it was always just me in the community being the filmmaker, no one else was,” Mantenieks said. “That’s definitely changed for me, I have such a big pool of people to be inspired by now.”

In this episode, Mantenieks discusses her life post-graduation and how graduating affected her creative process. She emphasizes introspectiveness and getting to know how you define yourself and your work.

Check back again Sunday, May 9 for the 11th episode of “Bookmarked and Dogeared.”
