CEO gives un-Limited advice
By Chelsea Leigh
Linda Heasley, the CEO of The Limited, visited the SCAD Museum of Art to speak with a variety of departments on April 17, including fashion, jewelry and objects, interior design and industrial design.
She provided helpful insight to her audience, explaining that no one department should outshine the other.
“Each department relies on the other to provide a seamless brand image,” said Heasley. Collaboration is absolutely necessary. She spoke of her determination when it came to revamping The Limited’s image, the lessons she learned along the way and how to win customers and gain their trust.
She stressed the importance of asking for what you want, always getting the facts, being open to opportunities and not being afraid to take a risk, surrounding yourself with wonderful people, delivering results, not assuming that the customer thinks like you and the joy is in the journey.
She advised the movers and shakers of the audience to “be decisive and deliberate” when making choices and planning the next step.
“Be analytical, but also still emotional, it’s still all about the product,” said Heasley, encouraging the audience to flex all of their muscles and dabble in a little of everything.
The CEO had one parting piece of advice for women who wanted to follow in her footsteps: “Don’t take no for an answer!”
