Members of the Savannah City Council will hold a ceremony at the intersection of St. Julian and Barnard streets today at 2 p.m. to dedicate the new Whitaker Street Parking Garage. The state-of-the-art, underground garage contains 1,075 spaces for parking, and has been under construction for many years. After the opening, the aldermen will break ground on the next phase of the Ellis Square project, and will hold a reception in the lobby of the yet-to-be-opened Avia hotel.
