College Security Report Apr. 18-24, 2011

April 18

12:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that the bumper of her car had been scraped while it was parked at Gulfstream Center. The student did not wish to file a police report.

1:11 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Pulaski House. Security met the Savannah Fire Department at the scene. A student cooking in the room caused the alarm.

2:30 p.m. — A SCAD employee reported to security that his bike had been stolen from the bike rack at York hall. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

9 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Weston House involving a student with an ongoing medical condition who wanted to go to the hospital. A friend transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

April 19

8:55 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Anderson Hall. A student fainted but was alert when security arrived. The student stated he had not eaten in a while and declined medical attention.

10:30 a.m. — Security was informed that several items were missing from the sheds at Eichberg. The items missing included one wallet and several student projects.

6:18 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Abercorn Terrace. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm and the system was reset.

April 20

9:20 a.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Abercorn Terrace. A student cooking in their room caused the alarm.

10:50 a.m. — A student reported to security that her student ID had been stolen from the Dyson Lab. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

1:34 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Boundary Village. A student cooking in the room was determined to have caused the alarm.

2:10 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Hamilton Hall involving a student having a seizure. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

3:20 p.m. — A student reported to security that the rear tire of his bike was missing. The student did not wish to file a police report.

5:35 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Anderson Hall involving a student feeling light headed. The student did not wish to have EMS respond. The resident director arranged a ride for the student back to her dorm.

April 21

2:39 a.m. — Savannah-Chatham Metro Police notified security that they recovered a bicycle with a SCAD sticker. The owner of the bike was contacted and police delivered the bike to the student’s off-campus address.

6:40 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Turner House involving a student complaining of extreme ear pain. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

12:45 p.m. — A student reported to security that her bike had been stolen. The student stated that the bike had been locked to a tree near Club SCAD and was stolen between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. She did not wish to file a police report.

8:20 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Boundary Village involving a student who injured his toe at an off-campus location. The resident director arranged transport for the student to Memorial University Medical Center.

April 22

1:45 p.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident at Oglethorpe House involving a Sodexho contract employee and a student. The complainant left the scene prior to police’s arrival.

2:13 p.m. — Security responded to a room in Dyson House in reference to a drug policy violation. The resident director discovered a scale, pipe and marijuana during a check of the room. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and confiscated all of the items. None of the residents were present. Police issued crime report.

April 23

3:44 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Club SCAD involving a student that passed out. EMS responded to the scene but the student did not want to be transported to the hospital.

4:20 p.m. — A student reported to security that her ex-roommate was harassing her via the Internet. A resident adviser was informed of the situation and stated that he would handle the issue.

6:39 p.m. — Security responded to a report of a snake at the vending machine area of Dyson House. Maintenance was notified and responded to the scene and killed the snake.

9:40 p.m. — A student reported to security that her resident assistant keys were missing. The student stated that she believed her roommate took the keys. The resident director was notified and stated that he would handle the situation.
