College Security Report: April 21-27, 2008

April 21
4:44 p.m. – A student reported that his vehicle was vandalized while parked at Turner House. The student did not want to file a police report.

4:44 p.m. – A student attempted to enter Pepe Hall with another student’s ID card. The card was confiscated.

April 22
6:10 p.m. – Security found graffiti in Oglethorpe House. Photos were taken to document the graffiti.

7:11 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm activated at Trustees Theater. The alarm was determined to be false and reset.

7:23 p.m. – A student became ill at Montgomery Hall. Emergency medical personnel responded and checked the student. The student was released to return to class.

April 23
12:15 p.m. – A student became ill at Oglethorpe House. The student was transported for treatment.

8:13 p.m. – The magnetic lock at Crites Hall was malfunctioning. The maintenance office was notified.

9:10 p.m. – A professor broke a key in the lock at Charlton Hall.

11:00 p.m. –A student reported that her bicycle was taken from where she’d locked it in front of Crites Hall. A police report was filed.

April 24
2:10 p.m. – A student was involved in a traffic accident near the intersection of 51st and Montgomery streets. The student was transported for medical treatment and a police report was filed.

7:28 p.m. – A student broke a key in the lock at a Weston House room. Security was able to remove the broken key.

7:32 p.m. – Security was informed of an overflowing toilet in Jen Library. Housekeeping was notified.

8:47 p.m. – Security was informed of a water leak in an Oglethorpe House room. Maintenance and housekeeping were notified.

8:47 p.m. – An RD reported a power outage in two Oglethorpe House rooms. The maintenance office was notified.

9:52 p.m. – Security responded to a smoke alarm at Boundary Village. The alarm was determined to have been caused by a student cooking. The alarm was reset.

10:03 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Montgomery Hall. The building was checked and the alarm was reset.

April 25
5:18 p.m. – The J.O.’s Café manager informed security that three students had entered the café to eat without paying. Security responded and asked the students to leave.

April 26
8:27 a.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Kiah Hall. The building was checked and the alarm was reset.

10:59 a.m. – Security and the Savannah Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm at Café SCAD. It was determined to have been caused by a malfunctioning stove vent. The smoke was cleared and the alarm was reset.

April 27
Two RAs reported that a student had removed a gumball machine from the Dyson House lobby. The gumball machine was found in the Dyson field and returned to Dyson House.

11:15 a.m. – Security and the Savannah Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm at Café SCAD. There was no smoke or fire present. The alarm was silenced, but could not be reset.

1:58 p.m. – Security responded to a smoke alarm at Barnard Village. The alarm was determined to have been caused by a student cooking. The alarm was reset.

6:30 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Kiah Hall. The building was checked and the alarm was reset.
