College Security Report: April 7-13, 2008
April 7
8:53 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Alexander Hall. The alarm was determined to be false and reset.
9:10 p.m. – Security responded to a vehicle accident involving a student near the intersection of Oglethorpe Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Police and emergency medical personnel were on the scene before security arrived and the student was transported for treatment. A police report was filed.
April 8
2:10 a.m. – A door at the Lucas Theater was found unsecured. The building was checked and the door secured.
5 p.m. – A security officer injured her ankle at Barnard Village, but declined medical attention.
7:59 p.m. – An RD reported that a room in Dyson House had lost electrical power. The maintenance office was notified.
10:35 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Alexander Hall. The alarm was determined to be false and reset.
April 9
1:57 a.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Arnold Hall. The alarm was determined to be false and reset.
2:05 a.m. – Security found a malfunctioning door at Eichberg Hall. The maintenance office was notified.
April 10
12:41 p.m. – Security was notified a student had a firearm in a Dyson House room. Security investigated and found a pellet gun. The RD and Dean of Students office were notified.
6:43 p.m. – Security was notified of a plumbing problem in Crites Hall. Cleanup was ordered.
8:28 p.m. – A student reported that some items were missing from her wallet. She said she believes they may have fallen out in the Turner Annex parking lot.
9:23 p.m. – A student reported that his vehicle had been damaged while parked at Alexander Hall. A police report was filed.
April 11
12:50 a.m. – Security found an unsecured door at River Club. The building was checked and the door was secured.
8:35 a.m. – A truck accidentally struck the gate at the Lathrop Avenue Physical Resources building. No damage was caused.
1:41 p.m. – A staff member reported that her vehicle was hit by two vehicles while parked at Hamilton Hall. One of the drivers left a note at the scene. A police report was filed.
April 12
1:15 p.m. – A student reported that her bicycle was taken from where it was locked to a parking meter on East State Street. A police report was filed.
6:05 p.m. – A student reported that he injured his finger while working on a project at Fahm Hall. He declined emergency medical personnel, but requested college transportation for treatment.
9:15 p.m. – A fog machine activated an alarm at River Club. The fire department responded and security opened the doors for the fog to dissipate.
April 13
3:30 p.m. – Security responded to a vehicle accident on Barnard Street involving a student. Police and emergency medical personnel responded. A police report was filed.
6:45 p.m. – Security observed an individual asking for money and looking in car windows at Oglethorpe House. Police were called, but the individual left before they arrived.
