College Security Report: Aug. 19-25, 2008

Aug. 19

8 a.m.—A SCAD staff member reported to security that the key to her desk in York Hall was missing. She stated that she had last seen the key on Aug. 11 when she left the key taped to the underside of her desk top.

8:41 p.m.— A security officer reported that someone had taken his personal messenger bag while it was left unattended on a chair in the main lobby of Arnold Hall. He stated that the building was secure at the time of the theft. Police responded to the scene and generated a report.

9:45 p.m.—Security responded to a door alarm activation at Lai Wa Hall. Upon investigation it was determined that the alarm was caused by a staff member returning equipment to the building.

Aug. 20

9:28 a.m.—A SCAD staff member reported to security that two computer monitors were missing from Anderson Hall. Police responded to the scene and generated a report.

8:25 p.m.—A SCAD student reported to security that she scratched her shoulder on a closet rack at Boundary Village. She stated that she did not need medical attention. Security reported that a work order would be generated to repair the rack.

Aug. 23

7:38 a.m.— Security responded to an alarm activation at Boundary Hall. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm was caused by the painters working on site. The alarm was silenced and reset.

9:14 a.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Arnold Hall. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm was caused by contractors working on site. The alarm was silenced and reset.

12:29 p.m.—Security responded to an alarm activation at Arnold Hall. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm was caused by a staff member entering the wrong code while departing the building. The alarm was silenced and reset.

Aug. 24

8:07 a.m.—The downstairs fire exit of Bergen Hall was unsecured and open. Security responded to the scene and performed a walk through of the building and secured the door. Nothing appeared to be missing. Police generated a report.

8:46 a.m.—Security discovered the back fire exit of Norris Hall unsecured. Police responded to the scene and performed a walk through of the building. Nothing appeared to be missing. SCAD Maintenance arrived on scene at 10:50 a.m. to fix the door. Police generated a report.

12:30 p.m.—Security discovered a broken window at Harris Hall. Police responded to the scene and assisted with a walk through of the building. Nothing appeared to be missing. Maintenance was called and notified of the broken window, so that repairs could be made. Police generated a report.

Aug. 25

9 p.m.—Security discovered the handicapped door to York hall was unsecured. An interior patrol was conducted and the door was manually secured.
