College Security Report: Jan. 20-22, 2009

Jan. 20

3:07 p.m. — A SCAD student reported to security that she had lost her wallet containing $60, SCAD ID and three credit cards while walking on River Street at 11 p.m. Jan. 16. She said that she believes that the items may have been stolen from her, but she did not wish to file a police report.

3:30 p.m. — Security discovered the mirror in the Anderson Hall bathroom was missing. Security checked with maintenance and the building manager, who both said that they did not know the whereabouts of the mirror.

9:07 p.m. — Security responded to an off-campus medical call at St. Paul’s activity building. A SCAD student said he had fallen while playing basketball and hit his head and shoulder. EMS responded to the scene, but the student said he did not want to be transported.

Jan. 21

7:30 p.m. — A SCAD student attempted to enter Bergen Hall with a dog. When challenged by the security officer, the student stated that he had permission from a professor to enter the building with the animal. The operations manager responded to the scene and asked the student which professor gave permission. He could not give a professor’s name and decided to depart Bergen Hall with the dog.

10:45 p.m. — Security responded to a smoke alarm activation at a room in Barnard Village. The alarm was determined to be false, and the system was silenced and reset.

Jan. 22

2:55 a.m. — Security discovered the main door to Club SCAD was unsecured. Security conducted a patrol of the building and secured the door.

6:35 a.m. — Security responded to a suspicious vehicle call at Oglethorpe House. Security determined that the vehicle was occupied by a SCAD employee.

4:54 p.m. — Security responded to vehicle accident at Montgomery Hall. An American Coach Line bus driver struck the vacant guard booth at Montgomery Hall. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene and issued a report. No injuries were reported.
