College Security Report: June 19-23, 2009
June 19
7:05 p.m.—SCAD Security received a call from a man whose vehicle was damaged at the corner of 34th and Drayton streets near Arnold Hall. He said he wanted to inform SCAD in hopes that the security camera in the Arnold Hall parking lot recorded the incident. The Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was notified and filed a report. The video was reviewed and no evidence was found because the site of the incident was not in the camera’s field of view.
8:30 p.m.—SCAD Security responded to a report that Barnard Village and the surrounding area had lost power. SCAD maintenance was called. Power was restored at 12:17 a.m.
June 20
5:15 p.m.—SCAD Security responded to an alarm activation at Arnold Hall. Upon investigation the alarm was silenced and reset.
7 p.m.— SCAD Security responded to a Dyson House room and spoke with a resident assistant. The RA said the air conditioning unit was malfunctioning. The resident director and a technician were called.
June 21
5:30 p.m.— SCAD Security responded to an alarm activation at Arnold Hall. Investigation revealed a false alarm. The system was silenced and reset.
June 22
7:09 p.m.— SCAD Security responded to an alarm at Pepe Hall, coming from the Fire Control System. SCAD maintenance was called and advised that International Fire Control Systems was coming to fix the issue. The alarm was repaired at 11:15 p.m.
June 23
7:30 a.m.—SCAD Security received a call from a Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department officer who said that a SCAD student’s vehicle had been broken into. The student’s car was located at 24 E. State St. The student checked the vehicle but could not find anything missing. A police report was filed.
6:43 p.m.—SCAD Security discovered the door to Shop SCAD unlocked with the alarm set. The building was checked and nothing was out of the ordinary. The door was locked and alarm was reset.
11:20 p.m.—SCAD Security at Eichberg Hall received a report from a SCAD student that a box containing a full set of markers, electrical sharpener, and a ruler was stolen. The Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was notified, however the student found that her friend took possession of the missing items and that she no longer needed security or police
11:43 p.m.—SCAD Security discovered the door to Red Gallery unlocked with the alarm set. The gallery was checked and nothing was out of the ordinary. The door was locked and alarm was reset.
