College Security Report: March 16-23, 2009
March 16
12:57 a.m.— Security responded to a call box activation at Bergen Hall, but upon arrival found no one was present at the call box.
11:40 p.m.— Security responded to a call box activation at Old Arch, but upon arrival found no one was present at the call box.

No activity was reported.
March 17
1:46 a.m.— A SCAD student notified security that her bicycle was missing. She stated that she had locked the bike to a meter in front of Oglethorpe House at Feb. 27 and that the bike had been missing for two weeks. She requested that the police not be notified.
1:40 p.m.— Security responded to a call box activation at Old Arch, but upon arrival found no one was present at the call box.
March 19
2 a.m.— Security stopped two non-SCAD individuals from entering Turner House using IDs that did not belong to them. Both individuals stated that they were not students and that they had borrowed student IDs to enter the facility. The ID cards were confiscated and the non-SCAD individuals departed.
4:45 a.m.— A security officer stated that an unidentified male attempted to gain entry to Oglethorpe House while three SCAD students were also entering. The man stated that he was tired of sleeping on the streets and wanted to come inside. The security officer asked the man to leave and he complied with the request.
9:43 a.m.— Security responded to a fire alarm activation at Pepe Hall. Savannah Fire Department and Sonitrol alarm company technicians were on site prior to security’s arrival. Security determined the alarm was caused by the Sonitrol technicians working on the system.
March 20
10:30 a.m.— A SCAD student reported to security that his bike was missing from Dyson House. He stated that he had noticed that the bike was missing on March 14. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to the scene and issued a report.
3:52 p.m.— Security discovered the door to the Turner House Snack Shop was unsecured. The Sodexho manager was called and responded to the scene. The manager called the locksmith to have the door secured.
11:30 p.m.— SCAD students reported to security that there were several items missing from their dorm room in Turner House. Both students stated that the items were last seen at midnight March 15, and that they noticed the items missing at 7 p.m. March 20. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to the scene and issued a report.
March 21
12:23 p.m.— Security responded to a system trouble alarm at Adler Hall. Security patrolled the area and found nothing out of the ordinary. The alarm was silenced and reset.
March 22
12:30 a.m.— A resident director requested security assistance at a room in Turner House. The director stated that he had found the door propped open and had smelled marijuana. Security responded to the scene and the director entered the room. No students were on site and nothing unusual was found in the room.
4:30 p.m.— A SCAD student reported that his car had been damaged over spring break while it was parked at Weston House. He stated that he had parked his car March 14 and that the rear passenger side door was damaged when he returned March 21. The student did not want the police notified.
4:47 p.m.— Security responded to a call box activation at Old Arch. Security responded to the scene and did not find anyone at the call box.
March 23
7:04 a.m.— Security responded to a medical call at Oglethorpe House. A SCAD student had injured her head. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to the hospital.
10 a.m.— A SCAD student reported to security that his bike had been stolen from the bike rack at Eichberg Hall. He stated that he had locked the bike to the rack March 13, and that the bike was missing when he returned at 10 a.m. March 23. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to the scene and issued a report.
5:08 p.m.— A cashier at Ex Libris reported to security that she had observed a SCAD student steal a book from the store. Security responded to the scene and spoke with the manager. The manager stated that she would prefer to handle the issue through student conduct and did not wish to have police notified.
