College Security Report: May 5 – May 11, 2008
May 5
2:38 a.m. – A parent reported to security that an unknown male was banging on their daughter’s door at Turner Annex. Security responded and the male reported he was banging because of the noise coming from the room. The RD was notified.
11 a.m. – Two students were involved in a vehicle accident at Adler Hall. No injuries were reported and neither student wanted a police report filed.
1 p.m. – A student reported that her scooter was damaged while parked at Turner Annex. Upon investigation, it was determined the scooter fell over on its own.
2:35 p.m. – An alarm was activated at Kiah Hall. Security responded, found the alarm to be false and reset the system.
3:10 p.m. – A student reported her bicycle was missing from where she’d locked it to a pole on Broughton Street near Primary Art Supply. A police report was filed.
3:30 p.m. – A student became ill at Norris Hall. Emergency medical personnel responded but the student refused medical treatment.
8:19 p.m. – A staff member reported that her car had been hit while parked at the intersection of Tattnall and Taylor streets. A police report was filed.
May 6
3:30 p.m. – A student reported that her vehicle had been damaged while parked at Turner House. A staff member returned to the scene and stated he hit the vehicle. A police report was filed and insurance information was exchanged.
10:30 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm activation in the Gulfstream Center paint room. The alarm was silenced and reset.
5:45 p.m. –A student reported that his bag was taken from his car parked near Club SCAD with the windows down. A police report was filed.
May 7
2:31 p.m. – An alarm was activated at Boundary Village. Security responded and reported the alarm was caused by a student cooking. The alarm was silenced and reset. The Savannah Fire Department was notified.
May 8
1:34 p.m. – A student was involved in an off-campus traffic accident and was transported for treatment.
3:29 p.m. – A college vehicle was involved in an off-campus traffic accident near the intersection of 45th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. No injuries were reported and a police report was filed.
10:58 p.m. – A student became ill at Oglethorpe House. Emergency medical personnel responded and the student was transported for treatment.
May 9
1:34 a.m. – Two student reported that they were robbed at gunpoint near the intersection of 49th and Barnard streets. A police report was filed.
8:13 a.m. – The Pepe Hall building manager reported that she found the door to Pepe Hall unlocked and propped open when she arrived. The manager stated this was not the first time she’d found the door this way.
7:31 p.m. – A staff member backed into a vehicle at Eichberg Hall. A police report was filed.
May 10
3:55 a.m. – An intoxicated student was found at Weston House unconscious with vomit next to him. Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the student for treatment.
6:10 a.m. – Security discovered vandalism to a flower pot at Poetter Hall. A police report was filed.
10:24 a.m. – A student reported he was ill at Barnard Village and needed medical transportation.
2 p.m. – A student reported that her bicycle was missing from where she locked it to the rack at the Student Center. A police report was filed.
8:26 p.m. – Security responded to an alarm at Boundary Hall. The alarm was determined to be false and reset.
8:45 p.m. – A student reported that items were taken from his car parked at Weston House. A police report was filed.
May 11
1:20 p.m. – A student reported he had been inappropriately touched by an unknown male that gave him a ride near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Lacoste
May 8, 9 p.m. – An intoxicated individual entered the cafeteria and proclaimed it to be his. The individual was escorted from the property and struck a staff member once outside. The individual was chased from the village and police were called.
