10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Trustee’s Garden Club will host a flower show that displays floral design, horticulture, photography and a conservation exhibit. The floral design division will present floral interpretations of modern art from the Varnedoe collection, as well as arrangements in a Dutch Grand Master style and Impressionism. Friday, March 14

Hugo Boss Sample Sale at SCAD

10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Snag high fashion clothes at low prices! Men and women’s merchandise from Hugo Boss will be discounted up to 75 percent off and the proceeds will benefit the Hugo Boss Fashion Endowed Scholarship at SCAD. On Friday and Saturday the sale will be open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. This event is open to the public and only credit cards will be accepted. Robert Cohen Author Talk

Local writer, Robert Cohen, will discuss his book of poetry, “Men vs. Women: Needs, Wants, and Desires.” His book covers a range of topics—from his life with cerebral palsy to family situations and relationships—and emotions. Downtown Savannah is the place to be not just for St. Patrick’s Day, but for the entire weekend. With five stages set up in the “festival zone” and over 60 bands performing over a four-day period, it’s sure to be a good time. Saturday, March 15

Irish Heritage Celebration Parade on Tybee Island

Starts at City Hall, 403 Butler Ave

3 – 5 p.m.

Go see how they paint the island green in honor of St. Patrick’s day. There will be plenty of marching, music, bagpipes, skirts and much more Irish heritage. See Tybee Island put their own spin on it with beach chair dancing and flag twirling. For more information, go to their website.

Tara Feis Irish Celebration

Emmet Park, east end of Bay Street

11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This Irish celebration begins with an official Irish opening ceremony and keeps up the festive mood with bagpipes, Irish dancing and all sorts of other live performances throughout the day. There will be a children’s stage along with arts, crafts and games for kids to enjoy. It’s a free, non-alcoholic event that’s open to the public. For more information, go to their website.

Familiar Terrain Reception

Indigo Sky Community Gallery, 915 Waters Ave Savannah-Eastside

6 – 9 p.m.

Artists Lisa D Watson and Lind Hollingsworth will participate in a gallery talk at 7 p.m. moderated by Bret Bell. Celtic Cross Ceremony

Emmet Park, located on East Bay Street from East Broad Street to Lincoln Street

1 – 2 p.m.

Celtic Cross Ceremony at Emmet Park will start at 1 p.m. at the Celtic Cross monument and last about one hour. This ceremony marks the 30th anniversary of the monument and is centered on faith and heritage; it celebrates the commitment and passion of the Irish and honors their families and community. Monday, March 17

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Starts at Gwinnett and Abercorn streets

10:15 a.m.

Get your green on and go see how the Irish celebrate. At the 190th St. Patrick’s Day Parade, there will be plenty of plaid skirts, Irish pipe bands, flags and marchers. You can find your own spot along the parade route or buy a seat on the bleachers, for $25 in advance and $30 the day of from Kelly Tours’, who set them up just for the festivities.
