Toonz 2D has recently become OpenToonz, an open-source animation software that is now free. Toonz 2D has been used to create popular shows like “Futurama” and “Steven Universe.” Studio Ghibli used it to make films like “Spirited Away,” “Princess Mononoke” and many more. In celebration, District is presenting a competition to encourage students to experiment with the software.

The contest starts today, April 7 and deadline is May 13. at midnight. To enter, create a short 15 – 30 second video in the theme of SPACE and email us at submissions@scaddistrict.com.  Please, all submissions in good taste. When the contest ends, all videos will be posted on our site and voting will begin. By the end of the week, the entry with the most votes will win.
