Drivers can expect detours if heading downtown via the Truman Parkway starting at 8 p.m. on Friday. East President Street west of the Truman Parkway will be closed for repairs on the railroad crossings until midnight on Sunday.
Traffic can expect to be detoured onto other exits and entrances of the Parkway if trying to head into or out of downtown.
This will effect drivers mostly trying to head to the Islands from the downtown area, and they are advised to take alternative routes.
Both sides of President Street must be closed due to the nature of the repairs on the railroad tracks. According to Rail Link, the company who owns the lines, the repairs must be made as soon as possible.
The actual part of the track which crosses both lanes of the road is one large piece, making it necessary for the entire street to be closed off.
