If you’re part of a religious community, an art school like SCAD can make it difficult to find a college community with religious fellowship in Savannah. Luckily, there are lots of SCAD students who attend a myriad of churches, synagogues, mosques and other worship spaces throughout the city that any fellow student can take part in.
As is obvious when traveling through our city, there’s an overwhelming number of churches in Savannah, the oldest of which dates all the way back to 1733. This gives students innumerable options on where to attend, but to make it easier for you, below is a list of houses of worship that known SCAD students attend, as well as their attached student group.

Finding religious or cultural fellowship of any kind can be very valuable when integrating yourself into a new city and college space. Each worship space has elements of beauty and community, with everything from the Basilica’s ethereal Sunday morning organ music and grandiose architecture to the Masjid Jihad’s sense of belonging and connection to God that its attendees of Friday prayer speak of. Any of these worship spaces and student groups welcome SCAD students and seek to help students find belonging in their faith communities.
