Five Study Spots That Are Not Your Dorm or Cafés

After a long day of classes, the last thing you want to do is leave your dorm to study. Savannah has many spaces to offer, but sometimes the popular spots are overstimulating or not worth the visit. Here are five underrated gems that’ll get you out of your room and excited to study:

    1. E. Shaver Booksellers

    326 Bull St, Savannah, GA 31401

    Hours: Monday–Saturday / 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday / 12 p.m.–5 p.m.

    This cozy bookstore has many rooms to explore and relax in. The welcoming atmosphere wouldn’t be complete without the store cats roaming about, free for customers to pet. Now with two locations, there is twice as much to enjoy.

    2. SCAD Student Center

    120 Montgomery St, Savannah, GA 31401

    Hours: Monday–Sunday / 8 a.m.–10 p.m.

    While this building is known for its large event space, there are plenty of secluded areas fit for studying. The second floor offers the most seating, and the third floor has adjustable sleeping pods. The light that shines through these historic windows creates an airy environment that is sure to boost your mood and creativity.

    3. Emmett Park

    4089 E Bay St, Savannah, GA 31401

    Hours: Monday–Sunday / 24 Hours

    Savannah has many public parks, but Emmett is the only one that overlooks the river. This niche outdoors space has shade, seating and quiet streets. If the weather is nice, treat yourself to a study session that soaks up the sun and sights of beautiful Savannah.

    4. Jen Library

    201 E Broughton St, Savannah, GA 31401

    Hours: Monday–Friday / 7:30 a.m.–12 a.m. and Saturday–Sunday / 10 a.m.–12 a.m.

    Jen Library not only has an extensive collection of books, but also private study rooms and a small cafe that’s open Monday through Friday. This relaxing building is covered in student art, sure to inspire you on your creative journey.

    5. The Stacks Bookstore

    2409 Waters Ave, Savannah, GA 31404

    Hours: Tuesday–Saturday / 11 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday / 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

    The Stacks makes a clear effort to bring the community together. They offer many events for booklovers and storylovers to enjoy. Their comforting environment provides a great place to unwind and get work done.
