Fresh Advice: Microsoft software and other SCAD deals
From a sophomore student looking back at his freshman year at SCAD comes Fresh Advice, the run down on all of the SCAD programs, operations and secret tricks you need to know to make a smooth transition to SCAD life.
Microsoft Office 365 is offered to SCAD students for free along with other programs. Obtaining the license is easy and only takes a few minutes. Log in to MySCAD and make your way to the Resources tab. Towards the bottom of the page a section labeled “SCAD Deals” displays all the licenses offered to all majors at SCAD, which includes free Adobe software and a discount on Toon Boom.
Click the Microsoft Office 365 download link. You will be redirected to your SCAD email login. Once you’ve logged in, you will be redirected to Office 365, an online collection of Microsoft programs linked through your SCAD email, Outlook.
Towards the top right-hand corner, you will see a button offering you to install Office 2016. Once the button is clicked a download will begin where you can proceed with the download instructions for Microsoft programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and more.
SCAD also offers free access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Read more about SCAD’s Creative Cloud licensing here.
