G20 meetings held in London

The G20 will be meeting this week in London to discuss the economic standings of the global market, with hopes of possible solutions.

The G20 is a global organization of 20 countries that make up 85 percent of the world’s economy, and includes countries such as the United States, United Kingdom and France. Some newer members are China and Brazil with their large industry-based economies.

This week’s meeting will be focused on cutting interest rates along with ways to strengthen banking policies in order to prevent economic downfalls from occurring again. They are also hoping to work on ways to restructure world-banking organizations such as the International Monetary Fund.

With world meetings also comes controversy: France has threatened to walk out of the meetings if their stricter financial policies are not met, which has been faced with oppositions from the U.S. and the U.K.

More information to come after the meetings on April 2nd.
