Get creative over winter break

As we persevere through the last few days of the fall quarter, many of us might be looking forward to leaving campus for winter break. For the bees who are unsure of what to do during this time, fear not. Below you will find a compiled list of winter break activities to help keep your creativity flowing:
Bundle up for a movie or two.
A classic winter activity that can be paired with a hot cocoa bar. Include your favorite toppings: marshmallows, whipped cream, candy canes or chocolate chips. I would recommend watching “The Good Nurse,” which has recently been added to Netflix or “My Policeman,” featuring Harry Styles, which you can find on Amazon Prime Video. Both films were featured at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival in October.
Read the book that you’ve been too busy to read.
If you were presumptuous like me, you might have brought a few too many books to campus in September with the intent of reading them in your free time. However, it turned out that you did not have as much free time as you first thought. Winter break is your time to escape reality by reading the book you have been excited for.
Create and complete a still life of your favorite corner of your home.
This activity may sound similar to a few finals. However, you have no deadline or rubric. Be as creative as you want, start it one day and finish it in a few weeks! This still life should include something that evokes a positive emotion or something that you have missed the most about your home.
Design and send a card to your SCAD friends.
Although you just spent the last ten weeks with these fellow bees, take some time to design a personalized card for your friends. This could include your favorite things about Savannah, SCAD or your friend. Try drawing, painting or collaging on the front of the card. Be sure to write a sweet note on the inside to update them on your adventures while away from SCAD for winter break.
