Major: Fashion Design
Year: Fourth-Year
Hometown: Township of Washington, N.J.

District: When did you decide you wanted to pursue a career in fashion?

Stephanie Lottermann: When I was younger my mom used to make me clothes and I think that is when I really started to understand and take an interest in fashion and the art of it. She would bring me to the fabric stores and let me pick out my fabrics and patterns.

District: What was your inspiration behind your collection?

Lottermann: My inspiration behind my collection was my nationality. I am Polish and wanted to focus my attention on the traditional Polish folk costumes.

District: What was the most challenging aspect of the senior collection process?

Lottermann: I think for me at first [it] was to not make my collection too literal and over time my collection transformed.

District: What are your future plans after graduating?

Lottermann: To move back up north and hopefully land a job in NYC.

District: Do you have any advice for future seniors when starting senior collection?

Lottermann: It is a process and can get stressful, but have fun with it.

District: Who has been the most influential person when developing your collection?

Lottermann: The most influential person I would have to say is Prof. Dean Sidaway. He has really pushed me in a good way and has given me great advice along the way.

District: How do you categorize your design aesthetic?

Lottermann: I think it changes as I change. I would say I try and create things that I would actually want to wear.

District: Out of your peers, whose collection is your favorite?

Lottermann: I thought everyone did a wonderful job this year and there were so many collections that I really did love. I am so proud of the senior class this year.
