How to report a bus or other incident at SCAD

BY DANIELLE AUSTIN AND KENNETH ROSEN

There may come a time when it is necessary for you to report an incident involving the SCAD bus line: Whether it is an accident, an issue you may have had with a driver, or a general complaint.

In the event that you do find yourself in a situation that would require outside assistance, the best thing to do is report it.

There are people available to help 24 hours a day and it is as easy as picking up the phone or sending an email. The process is relatively simple. First, you should email ride@scad.edu as soon as possible.

If you do not receive a reply about a complaint e-mail that you previously sent, it doesn’t necessarily mean it wasn’t read. If you do wish to have a response make sure you request it in your inquiry.

If the situation requires immediate attention than you can also call SCAD Security (912 525-4500).

“Report to them exactly what happened,” said Jeff Smith, head of transportation and security. “Give them as much information as you can so that we can thoroughly investigate and take the proper action.”

Sometimes security may not be able to attend to a student’s needs or problems. If a student is dissatisfied with the way their incident was handled, or would like to check the status of a complaint, they can send a follow-up email or call 912 525-5080.

At the end of the day these systems are here in place for us, the students, and it is our responsibility to help make the system work for us.

“The bus system is there for the students,” said Smith, “and the more feedback we get from the students the better we can make it for them.”
