The Sidewalk Arts Festival is an occasion for the communities of SCAD and Savannah to integrate for a day of fun and creativity in Forsyth Park. It is also an excellent opportunity for the stylish to strut their stuff. District took to the pavement tracking down just a few of the suave individuals who joined in the festivities to document their outfits and to get to know them a little better.
Sean Jackson says he’s an architecture graduate student from Philadelphia, but he is not registered with SCAD’s database. “Chalk dirty to me.”

Will Penny, a painting alum (BFA and MFA) from Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. “I created the ping pong tables.” Penny is responsible for the three black, white and yellow ping pong tables featured in Forsyth Park during Sidewalk Arts. They celebrate SCAD’s 35 years of education.

Becky Dionne, a first-year fibers major from Hudson, N.H. “At age ten, what did you want to be when you grew up?” “I wanted to be an actress, an artist, a swimmer and an animal trainer. I loved crafts. I made a mess a lot. I went to a bunch of different camps — Broadway camp, animal training camp and I was a swimmer of thirteen years. I started swimming when I was 6.”

“What did you love doing at age 10?”
“At age 10 I was already traveling with my photographer granny and we would camp almost anywhere we go. I loved finding secret hideouts and making maps for all the locations. Also I loved watching movies and practicing calligraphy while listening to ‘Oasis.’”
