Welcome back to “I’m Booked,” your favorite book review series by yours truly, Ally Abruscato. Today, let’s talk about a classic: “Jurassic Park” by Michael Crichton.

If you have ever met me or even seen me from afar, you probably know I love “Jurassic Park.” My brother and I grew up watching the movie, and just listening to the theme song can bring tears to my eyes. Knowing this, it might be a surprise that I read the book for the first time this year. To be honest, I was worried I would be disappointed considering how much I adore the movie. However, “Jurassic Park” exceeded my expectations.

For those who have never felt real joy and therefore have not seen or read “Jurassic Park,” I’ll give you the general gist. Scientists figure out how to recreate dinosaurs and bring them back from extinction. They are born and raised in an amusement park/zoo that is on a whole other level. Needless to say, not everything goes as planned.

There are some differences between the book and the movie, but both are exceptionally well done. Seeing as “Jurassic World Dominion” comes out on June 10 in theaters, I suggest you start reading. For the best possible experience, it is strongly recommended that you read “Jurassic Park,” watch the movie, then watch the other four movies, then watch the finale, “Jurassic World Dominion” at the midnight premiere. Just a suggestion.

My favorite quote from “Jurassic Park” might be basic and simple, but it honestly lives in my head at all times. All you need to know is that “life will find a way.” If I haven’t been clear enough already, I strongly recommend reading “Jurassic Park.” It’s constantly entertaining, extremely detailed and a real roller coaster ride.  I’ll be back next week with another suggestion, but until then, I’m booked.
