Jeff Beard makes everything look easy. He has an ardent interest in photography and advertising design – not to mention skateboarding and surfing. Beard has been skateboarding for roughly twelve years, which is why he’s currently in Atlanta photographing all the ways skateboarders seem to defy gravity. He’s been photographing every competition in Atlanta this summer. One of his skateboarding photos was just published in FTK magazine. Last month he had a show in Atlanta and is currently working on putting two more together. Beard describes the work of Harold Edgerton and his book “Stopping Time” as having a great influence and says it encouraged him to pursue photography.
