Life Through a Lens: A Day at SCAD

While documenting my week in photos, I found that I’ve been settling into college life faster and easier than I expected. I’m pursuing my passion in a beautiful place, meeting wonderful people and taking classes that I truly enjoy. I feel incredibly lucky to be here, and while I still get intense waves of homesickness, I find myself happy that life doesn’t feel as overwhelming as it did in the beginning.
I highlighted some of my favorite things from the past week in the photos above. Something I love about my dorm room is the beautiful sunsets that shine through the window. Coming back after a long day of classes to a golden-lit room is a fantastic feeling. Similarly to that, the sky was a bright yellow the night before Hurricane Ian was projected to hit Savannah. I watched as people gathered onto the building stairwells and danced in the rain.
Taking photos has always been a way for me to reflect on my life, and by doing so over this week-long documentation, I’ve captured memories that I’ll look back on fondly for the rest of my life.
