Have you ever found yourself flipping through pages of ELLE, Vogue or Glamour and wanted to learn how to master the latest style trends? Or have a guide on neat DIY crafts? What about eating healthy on a budget? Decorating a new living space?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then you’ve come to the right place.
Welcome to lifeSTYLED, a weekly column that takes a stylish and eclectic approach to everyday student living. Our names are Anna Coke and Gage Daughdrill. We are two fashion blogging students who want to relay our personal life experiences and knowledge in the worlds of fashion, crafting, and decorating to all of you.
To commemorate the lovely fall weather Savannah has been having, we thought our first post should be on a couple of our favorite fall trends and how to wear them. Among all of the styles this season, some that particularly stood out to us were chunky knit sweaters and black-and-white suiting.
Gage: Chunky knit sweaters are great and so appropriate for this time of year. Prints, patterns, or just solid colors are perfect. I personally am a fan of contrasting stripes, but go for whatever you like. Just make sure you stray from bright hues such as saturated pinks and yellows and opt for darker, rich tones of color such as forest green or ox blood.
I paired mine with dark colored denim, but you could add a feminine touch with a leather skirt or a casual look with boyfriend jeans. Lastly, I wore brown oxfords to add a touch of dressiness and then accessorized accordingly.
Anna: I love this black-and-white suiting trend. Combining two of my favorite values in an elegant ensemble is what I would call perfection. The versatility of being able to wear it from day to night is very convenient if you are pressed for time.
I wore a sleeveless white button-down top, tucked in black satin pleated shorts. Also, I layered a white blazer over the two and finished it off with a neutral pair of heels, to not distract from the black-and-white. Embellish your wrist and fingers with simple gold jewelry and even a collar statement necklace if you would like.
We hope you enjoyed our first column; hopefully we inspired some cute seasonal getups for your wardrobe. Make sure to check lifeSTYLED next week for our first project.
