Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are still searching for a man who attacked two women this past weekend.
After 11 p.m. on July 16, officers responded to a call of an attempted abduction on the 200 Block of River View Drive. The victim told the police she was grabbed from behind while taking out the trash for her work. The victim kicked and screamed until the suspect let go and fled. At 2 a.m. on July 17, police believe the same suspect struck again on the 2700 Block of Gregory Street. The second victim told the police she was sitting in her parked car when the suspect reached into the vehicle and tried to pull her out. After kicking and screaming, the suspect again fled.
The suspect is described as a black male, clean shaven, having a low haircut, approximately 5-foot-6-inches tall, 150 pounds and wearing dark pants. The only inconsistent description is that the first suspect wore a white shirt and the second suspect wore a black shirt.
In light of the situation, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police provide a few safety tips:
– Be alert when going to and from your vehicle
– Always be prepared to call 911 on your cell phone
– Travel in pairs and try not to leave anywhere alone
– Use your car alarm emergency button if you feel threatened
