Tropical storm Emily formed in the Caribbean Aug. 1. Tropical storm warnings were in effect for Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the surrounding islands. Haiti and the U.S. Virgin Islands were under a tropical storm watch. The storm is predicted to skirt the southeast coast of the U.S. by the weekend. However, the storm’s path is still uncertain. Whether the storm will turn into a hurricane or not is also still unable to be determined, but it could become the first hurricane of 2011 in the Atlantic Ocean.
