Poké pronounced /poʊˈkeɪ/ is a Hawaiian specialty of raw fish, rice and savory toppings. Typically served bowl style, the flavors and ingredients of poké are similar to those of Japanese sushi tradition. While it seems the dish has taken the whole country by tropical storm, Savannah had yet to host a poké exclusive establishment until this fall. Now, the Starland District welcomes Nom Nom Poké Shop to the buzzing restaurant neighborhood. Just across Bull Street from SCAD’s Arnold Hall, Nom Nom boasts an ideal location for students to pause for a bite between classes.
