SCAD’s annual Graphic Design Festival took place last Friday, November 4th. The festival spread over the first floor of Adler Hall and presented a fun experience for graphic design majors and non-graphic design majors alike. Throughout the two-hour-long event, visitors explored different workshops and presentations, student work displays, played “Guess the Logo” on Kahoot and students even sold their own work. When walking through the door, visitors received a free pin and punch card in order to check off each workshop.
Here’s an overview of the four main workshops:
At the screen printing workshop, students made their own tote bags with a template.
At the woodblock printing workshop, students could choose from a variety of woodblock prints and to experiment with them on sheets of paper.
The paper-making workshop gave students a unique experience of making their own sheets of paper from shredded recycled paper.
The final station was a hands-on bookbinding workshop where students learned the process of folding paper to make their own small notebooks.
