Regarding the proposed renovations to Broughton Street, what other areas in Savannah do you think could use some improvements?
“Areas around SCAD buildings that aren’t very safe. The potholes in the streets would also be good.”

“How about some of the ghetto? You think our top priority would be restoring houses for families in need, not for decoration.”

I think [Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard] needs to be renovated, especially with all the dorms around. Some more businesses and renovations would probably keep a few more sketchy characters away from the area.”

“A lot of the area around Anderson Hall and Wallin Hall are in desperate need of renovation. I’m no historic preservation major, but Bull Street south of Forsyth Park could be beautiful with the right work done.”

“Savannah is a huge tourist destination. It has beautiful squares, historic architecture and a strong sense of “southern charm.” But that sort of aesthetic isn’t pervasive throughout the entire city. A person could be walking through some of the most expensive real estate in the country, but then suddenly find themselves confronted with a seedy back alley or a dilapidated gas station. The city should really do something to bring up the standards of the whole city instead of focusing on small “historic” details.”
