Savannah Bananas: A baseball extravaganza

I can confidently say that the Savannah Bananas are the best baseball team to ever exist. Now, that might sound dramatic, but I stand by it. And here’s a little disclaimer: I hate baseball. But that’s why the Bananas are the best. They understood that baseball can be long, slow and tedious––and wanted an environment that could cater to everyone, not just baseball fans.
“It’s a circus and a baseball game at the same time,” said Jared Orton, President of the Savanah Bananas. “Bananas games are the most fun that you’ve ever had at a baseball game.” With that said, if you’re interested in attending a game, expect the unexpected.
No matter what goes down in the stadium, it is all about the fans. Orton and player Kyle Luigs emphasized how much Bananas care about the fans.
“My favorite thing so far is probably the platform for the younger generation,” said Luigs. Going on five years with the Bananas, Luigs enjoys impacting children and introducing them to the love of baseball.
If you’re thinking about going to a Bananas game, know that each game is unique, and according to Orton, there is “no downtime in your experience when you come to a Bananas game.” The players can sing and dance just as well as they perform their athletic talent.
If you’re not yet convinced that the Savannah Bananas are the best thing to happen to baseball, see it for yourself. Get yourself a ticket to Grayson Stadium or check out their Instagram. I’m sure they will blow your expectations out of the water. Go Bananas!
