The 13th annual Savannah Book Festival is fast approaching, with events spanning from Februrary 13th through February 16th.

Author Joseph Kanon will be delivering the opening address on Thursday. Kanon is known for books “Los Alamos,” “The Good German,” “Stardust,” the newest addition to his collection, “The Accomplice,” and more. The keynote address will be delivered by John Grisham, who will be adding new novel “The Guardians” to his long list of works. Closing out the festival will be John Becker and Megan Scott, recipe contributors to “Joy of Cooking,” including over six hundred recipes for the newest edition.

These headliner events are ticketed, with the keynote address already sold out and the opening and closing address tickets still being sold online for $25. The festival’s Saturday events, on the other hand, are free to the public and will feature authors at various venues including the Trinity Methodist Church, Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, the Savannah Theater and more in downtown Savannah near Telfair, Wright and Chippewa Squares. The schedule for these events is available on the Savannah Book Festival website. Entry for all events will be first come, first serve for anyone who wants to attend.

Authors appearing at Festival Saturday include Cathleen Schine, Sheila Weller, Jaquira Diaz, Emily Bestler, Steve Vogel and more.

Books by the authors appearing in the festival will be sold in the Book Sales Tent for Festival Saturday authors and at Trustees Theater for headlining authors. With the accompaniment of a Savannah Book Festival author signing card, which will be given at the time of purchasing the book, authors can also autograph copies of books. Book sales help the Savannah Book Festival thrive as 20% of all sales will go back to the festival.

The Savannah Book Festival is an excellent opportunity to discover new authors and stories, hear directly from well-known members of the writing community and to make new connections.
